How to make environmentally friendly laundry liquid soap with Marseille soap flakes:

You can buy Le serial Marseille soap flakes or grate Marseille soap block using a cheese grater (make sure the soap is dry)

Recipe:

Boil 1 litre of water in a pot; when water starts boiling take pot away from stove, wait for 5 minutes and put 50 grs of Marseille soap flakes in the pot; stir with a wooden spoon for 10 mns until soap has completely dissolved in water.

Add 1 dessert spoon of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) and 1 dessert spoon of white vinegar (to soften the linen).  Stir for 2 minutes.

You can add essential oils if the soap flakes are unscented.

When the liquid starts cooling down transfer it into a bottle and wait for 12 hours before use.

The mixture will get solid after that; shake the bottle before each use to make it more fluid;

Put 10mls of mixture in your washing machine (same compartment as were you usually put washing powder or in the drum); it can be use in cold wash but it’s more efficient in 30 degres celsius program.

The mixture can as well be used to hand wash linen in a bucket with warm water; No more chemicals released in wastewater; reduce waste (plastic or carton), much better for the skin, very economical;
